I hold a UK amateur radio license to the advanced level (callsign M0ZCJ, ex 2E0ZCJ) which is a CEPT equivalent licence class of 1. I also hold a Simple UK Business Radio license which allows me and those I authorise to use mobile radios with an ERP not exceeding 5 watts on certified VHF and UHF bands for comercial purposes.

Spending a lot of time in Cambridge means that I am very close to the UHF repeater here in Cambridge (GB3PY) and the VHF repeater in nearby Roydon (GB3PI). Due to practicality and my own laziness, I often operate out of my room in college via a small portable handheld Baofeng UV-82 transciever. It's cheap and Chinese, but it does the job.

I am an active member of the Cambridge University Wireless Society which can be heard on the air under its club callsign as G6UW. The club stocks a full range of equipment for all the VHF/UHF bands and most of the HF bands, including power amplifiers up to full legal power of 400 watts.
